the superb archaeological site of Perperikon!
from the holes in the stonework, this looks very much like it would have been a 3 storey building! Even the steps up are in superb condition considering this site is considered to be from around 5000BC
As for the holes in the stonework photo right, they could have been for the people's pot plants!
and so were we!

photos left and right are of a Kingly looking chair situated high up in the midst of Perperikon - did the King of Perperikon sit here and view over his land and peoples?
if the King was around, his crown has been carved into the stone work here!
around the door to a large regal room you can still see the remains of a large wooden door works!
I don't think the hole in this archaeological stone was really meant to hold a plastic bottle of mineral water!
