TATUL the ancient church, Tatul the sacred Pagan Sanctuary, Tatul the ancient fortress and Tatul the TOMB of ORPHEUS in 2011

With its ancient tombs temple holy well and staircases dating from the 4th, 3rd and 2nd century BC, Tatul, historically, has been quite a busy sacred place!
Again it was time to take a visit to Tatul to view the updated ancient historic site see what changes the EU and local Bulgarian funding has made there and most of all because I purrrrsonally love going there!

Kardjali/Kardzhali town centre market has recently been totally redesigned and now has all the fruit, vegetables, honey, walnuts, potatoes you need! This lovely market town now offers fruit and veg every day of the week plus Kardjali market also has a clothes market Luv its a fresh fruit n veg market in Kardjali town centre.
Bulgaria has many local markets plus delivery vans delivering fresh produce to some of the more remote villages in Bulgaria. This market has just been renovated with the help of EU grants and a lot of hard work by the Bulgarians!

Bulgaria

Bulgaria is an untouched country, it still has working horse n carts, donkeys and horses or donkeys still plough the fields and take crops by horse n cart from village to village for sale.
Many ancient cars still on the roads Lada's Volga's Trabbant's huge Russian Trucks
Southern Bulgarian villages are full of mosques, especially the Kardzhali region where every teeny village has it's very own mosque. The mosques kick of with their prayer singing each Friday night and these mosques share food with locals unable to work or provide enough food.
I have many photos of the local mosques which stand out tall against the hilly scenic backdrop.
The Muslims of Bulgaria are a peaceful peoples living amidst the local Bulgarians in peace and sharing communities.
